Futures is now at a crucial stage of development and as such we can offer the successful respondent a unique opportunity to work with us to help to further develop and grow the Futures offer within the expanded Pearlfisher network, on the ground in New York and in a consultancy capacity in San Francisco.

A senior role within our Futures team. Pearlfisher Futures is unique within the Pearlfisher business in terms of its internal and external focus; inspiring and informing the internal teams across the network and working directly with our clients to create new streams of commercial growth.

The bare minimum we need from you is
No less than 6+ years working in insight and innovation.

Expert written and spoken English.

 

And the technical skills we’d appreciate are

PowerPoint / Excel / Adobe CC

 

You will show us that you

Have experience of developing sharp cultural, category and consumer insights, working across international markets on new product and brand development, category extensions, and being a powerful presence in both business development meetings and public speaking events.

Are a true leader and collaborator.

Have the ability to develop or choose the right methodology for our research and take a lead role in the continual development of creative and innovative research techniques.

Have a keen interest and specialism in brands and consumer behaviour across a range of categories including food, drink, sport, healthcare, fashion, design, technology, finance, entertainment.

Can demonstrate experience of interrogating and challenging briefs to ensure consideration of all influencing aspects based on research.

Are talented at seeing the patterns inherent in insight and data, and the ability to understand and distil what these patterns could mean.

Have an aptitude for planning, performing and analysing qualitative consumer research and expert interviews.

Can creatively approach bringing to life our response to briefs, through beautiful presentations, events, films, and installations (with the help of the wider creative team and other resources).

 

The role in detail 

Evolve and build the Futures insight and innovation offer and its process. Work with us to explore and build the current approach and continually reinforce its effectiveness.

Define, create and deliver client projects at a high level. Guide the innovation process from workshops to presentations. Lead these projects, end-to-end working against multiple deadlines.

Develop new project structures, research techniques and gather insights from all types of research including partner agencies, articulate key findings and build a compelling argument for change relating to client objectives and opportunities.

Develop sharp, insightful and inspirational perspectives, quantify trends and consumer change in specific markets and sectors and identify the most relevant ideas and opportunities for the client.

Create new, creative and compelling ways to communicate the information and debrief final deliverables depending on the audience and environment.

Guide the team on the innovation journey, whether working on both individual briefs or in collaboration with the skills of the other two studios, Strategy and Design.

Continually develop new opportunities through attending new business meetings and being an active lead within pitch teams.

Collaborate with the Client Management team to develop opportunities, deliver on time and within budget and work with them to respond to client correspondence where necessary.

Collaborate with the Strategy and Design studios to deliver to our clients’ needs across a broad range of projects, including design and strategy briefs.

Proactively develop and share our unique perspective with your analyst. Feed our global IP, sharing information effectively across the Pearlfisher studios as we grow the Futures offer on a global basis.

Assessment of success
Success will be viewed and measured as part of the wider Pearlfisher New York goals which are based on Creative Excellence and Business Performance:

  1. The creation of powerful insight and innovation-driven content to drive our IP, directional creative work and the facilitation of a strong connection between futures, strategy and design.
  2. Contribution to and heading up of a number of internal programmes, First Thursdays, cultural events, interviews, public speaking.
  3. Pitch/win rate and value of new business/client development contribution.
  4. Number of awards won and designs featured on industry standard magazines/websites.
  5. Growth, efficiency and profitability of the over-all Futures program.

 

Reporting structure

The Senior Futures Analyst/ Futures Director role will be based in New York, reporting to the Futures Director – Global.
